DUAL-PHASE OSTEOBIOL® BIOMATERIALS.
The unique technology developed by Tecnoss® preserves collagen, maintains the natural structure of hydroxyapatite and avoids ceramization of granules in the creation of Dual-Phase OsteoBiol® bone substitutes.
In vitro(1) studies and histologies on rabbits(2) and humans(3) have confirmed that OsteoBiol® collagen biomaterials promote chemotactic action on osteogenic cells. Further in vitro studies have also shown that OsteoBiol® collagen biomaterials facilitate osteoblast migration(1), promote cell differentiation(4) into osteogenic cells, facilitate blood clot formation, and promote neo-angiogenesis(5).
THE ROLE OF COLLAGEN
Collagen is the most abundant protein found in the human body and plays an important role in tissue healing. Several studies have shown that collagen acts as a substrate for platelet aggregation(6), endothelial cell adhesion, and neo-vascularization(8). The protein also facilitates stem cell differentiation(7) and stimulation of the bone regeneration process(8).
